Then, when you're drain starts to get a little slow, pour a cup of vinegar and a cup of baking soda down the drain and just let it sit for a while bubbling away. The bubbling action and carbon dioxide  released will scour the inside of your drain and move all the loose particles on down to the main sewer pipe, after you wait a sufficient amount of time, run plenty of hot water down the drain for at least five minutes and you should be good to go.

Another great tool to help keep your kitchen drain clean is a long thin brush, sold at most popular supermarkets, that you can push down into the drain and clean the inside of the pipe. Before beginning, be sure and remove the strainer or the basket, then push the brush as far down into the pipe as it will go, then move the brush backwards and forwards scrubbing the sides of the pipe as best you can. By keeping the slime and particles cleaned in the pipes helps keeps the interior smooth for easier flow.

Finally, if nothing else works you should keep a plunger handy under the sink, never use the same plunger as your bathroom. You should be able to use the high-pressure from the plunger to unclog drains by using  force on the pushing stroke, then let up easily for the return stroke, in order to force the clog downwards, instead of bringing it upwards.
